Funny-I accidentally sent this picture to my blog...oops! Hello everyone! We've been in a huge drought here in California-the recent rain storm has been very exciting. And the dusting of snow icing on the cake! The ponies, Guppies, and Monsters are extra frisky this morning :) Hope everyone is doing well out there...we send lots of love! Xoxo Sue and the crew

We have had a wonderful week of skiing and skijoring with The Guppies and Monsters here in California...so much fun! I like snow so much better than rain...too bad we mostly get rain here. We'll just have to enjoy the snow days as much as we can when we get them :)
Here is a fun short video of mr smrp and The Monsters on their very first skijor-they did great!

We have so been busy finishing all of the fencing and barn work for our sweet ponies that I have been awful at posting updates-so sorry! But here are a few minutes with our handsome senior boy, Tango. He decided he wanted breakfast in bed this morning :) Love this sweet kind boy...I hope we have lots of years together still. All senior ponies should have such a happy life :)

We have a 13,500 acre fire (that's about 20 square miles) raging about 6 miles from us right now-it is called the American Fire. It started a week ago.
The footprint of the fire is about 11 miles long and ranges from 2 - 3.5 miles wide. This image shows how big it is-that's Lake Tahoe to the East. We are inundated with smoke-I've never been this close to such a big fire.
There are C-130's, a DC-10, and a dozen big helicopters flying low over our property every day plus over 1400 firefighters camped out in our little town (our population is only 1500 people!). We like having them here :)
Thank goodness that the fire is mostly heading to the North East and South East. We hope it is contained soon but many of the firefighters think it will become double or triple in size before it is contained. Yikes.
We do have our horse trailers ready to go in case we have to evacuate but hopefully that won't happen.
There are amazing photographs of the fire at the following link.
